First ever play. At first I found play's intimidating, I feel naked acting when I'm not singing, but I was up for the challenge and I am very happy that I took it on.

It was really easy to feel warmth in this scene because I got to smile at my friend.

*Something that Nigel constantly encouraged me to do was to find more strength in Harmonia. She is MORE than just a young woman who falls in love. She is an honest, passionate, and strong young woman who is unafraid to stand up for herself.

*The final bows with the cast of Harmonia. I am beyond grateful for this project. As my first performance opportunity since graduating, this show and all of the people involved will hold a very special place in my heart.
The Lancashire Lass

The Lancashire Lass has been my first ever workshopped musical. I am so grateful that Tim and Leslie wanted me to be apart of it. This is a photo used to promote highlights of the show that played during the Watershed Festival 2021. With Covid, we had to perform everything online. We would record our audio at home, film our parts with a green screen on zoom and work together to originate these incredible characters.
Working through the script with Leslie Arden and Tim Fort (behind the camera) in Spring 2022. It was a gorgeous day on the Queen's campus so we took our rehearsal to the bleachers!
Grateful to work with an amazing cast and crew. We finally got to workshop this musical in person so of course we must celebrate with a silly picture! We're excited for our performance at the Kingston Grand Theatre on May 25th 2022 as a part of the Watershed Festival.
*Finally after a few years of working on this show, we were able to perform the full production at the Kingston Grand Theatre in May 2023!
*It was an incredible experience working with some incredible women on a show about strong, powerful women from the early 1900s.
*The spanned between multiple decades and this particular scene took place at the beginning of the first World War.
There's something special about being in a show where women are fighting for their equal rights. As a woman who is very privileged to be living in Canada, it is fascinating to see how far we have come. And yet there is still so much fight for, especially for women in countries where they continue to have minimal rights. I'm grateful to have been in a show that demonstrates the importance of standing together.
*Our company bows. If only our run had last longer than two nights. Although, who knows, maybe someday I'll be given the gift of performing in this show once again...
Luziana
DAN Exposition Series (2022)

Luziana is about a girl who is faced with fear and grief. It is a story about finding hope in loss.
Writing this show was very therapeutic for me. Living through the pandemic, the news was following me everywhere and I couldn't escape the reality that so many people were dying and there was nothing I could do about it. This made me very aware of humanity's mortality.
In this story, Luziana is worried about losing her loved ones and she can't get a hold of them. It forced me to be vulnerable about a situation that scares me, the actor. But it also encouraged me to accept that I can't let myself be scared about something that is inevitable. Easier said than done, but still one step closer to walking away from one of my biggest fears. Sharing the stage with me are my lovely cast members, Kyra Mevis & Kate Delaney. I'm grateful that they were committed to sharing this story.
One of the most difficult parts of performing in this show was the vulnerability. The show deals with heavy subjects, but I came out of the experience learning so much more.
5 year old Luziana is not great at riding her bike. But at least her momma is there :)

Speaking of the pandemic, we actually only got to have a couple weeks (including tech) of in person rehearsals because the school was closed due to COVID-19.
I'm glad that I still got to put this show on live. Since my cast was only 3 people, we felt pretty comfortable. Rehearsals were masked and we had to take COVID tests every now and then to follow mandates.

The Last Five Years

“Brown’s score is beyond vocally demanding, and not only did Rosales hit each note with ease, the maturity of her vibrato and the depth of her vocal tone for a performer of her age was truly magnificent. Her performance of “A Summer in Ohio”, was not only the best number in the production with the audience wildly roaring at its completion, but was easily on par with the likes of Sherie Rene Scott and Betsy Wolfe”

This musical was set to have a two day performance in May 2020 for the Kingston Juvenis Festival but Covid-19 became an obstacle for the entire world, including our small production. However, there was light at the end of the tunnel and we were able to postpone our performance to November 2020!
With the help of some plexiglass, Covid safety precautions, and a passionate team, we managed to have a successful and memorable run of 13 shows! I was so blessed to be given the opportunity to tell such a beautiful and heartbreaking story. I dedicated every performance to the art workers who didn't get to share their stories due to the cancellations of their shows.
Perhaps one of my favourite songs in the show (although very difficult to pick) is "A Part of That". The build up to "and then he smiles, and where else can I go?" is such a gorgeous moment and the band did a spectacular job of bringing the arrangements to life. I would happily sing it over and over again.
"Next Ten Minutes". Such a beautiful song. I specifically remember getting teary when performing this, looking at Jamie and thinking about how in love Cathy is.
"Still Hurting" was the first number in the show and I loved it. Right before entering the stage I would do a small show ritual with Ian Eddy (Jamie) that was full of gratitude and excitement, helping me get prepared to take the audience on a journey with me.

Rehearsing a show during the pandemic is a little different that usual. Singing "Summer In Ohio" with a mask turns the song into a greater beast than it is but it was all worth it in the end.

My first musical at Queen's University! It was a wonderful one to start off my semester. It's so grand, full of humorous nonsense, and yet so meaningful. "It does exactly what a musical is supposed to do" :)
You're not gonna want to mess with these gangsters- I mean, pastry chefs!
"That's the crazy toledo surprise!" I had such a blast performing this number. It had been a while since I was cast in a role that has a big dance number plus it's just a hilarious song and show!

Having the opportunity to play Simon the Zealot was incredible! I grew up listening to classic rock music, so I was living out my rockstar dreams when singing "Simon Zealotes".
Day of our sitzprobe! We got all dressed up and took pictures showing off our mics. A few days until opening!
I had such an incredible and talented cast! We had so much fun in the green room together. This picture was taken on opening night!

Taken during the final number of our show. As the first year class we sang "You Will Be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen. It was so special because one of our classmates taught us the sign language of the chorus which we performed on stage.
"Tell Me On A Sunday" was arranged into a trio for our show and I just loved how vulnerable it was.
I was very proud of myself because I was given a part of the song that hits a belted E5. I was so nervous when I was first given the line but with lots of practice and support (breath support and human support), I did it!
Second Act is about to start where we'll dance to "Live and Living Colour", but a quick selfie in the dressing room won't hurt!

Footloose was such a fun show to work on. The dancing was exciting, and I also convinced my friend to join the show with me!
For some reason some of my favourite scenes in shows is when the two love interests first meet. It's when characters feel their first butterflies for each other. It's flirty and just so fun to play!
Ariel Moore was an interesting character to play. She wanted connection and love but felt so trapped. It was amazing to grow with her in this process.
Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical the Musical. The sweet and innocent bird next door.
One of the beautiful messages that Gertrude shares is how important it is to just be yourself. She longs a lengthy tail to catch Horton's eye...
but it isn't the extravagant tail that takes her where she wants to go. It's her heart.
I was lucky to play a role that reminded myself and others how important it is to embrace who you are.
Because at the end of the day, who you are, is enough :)
Unfortunately, I don't have many pictures from Anything Goes. However, at least I got one in my favourite costume piece: Erma's golden dress.
Ursula in The Little Mermaid also known famously for being Ariel's aunt. I'm being sarcastic...people just forget that they're family sometimes.
This was my first major production. I had done smaller plays before but this was the first show where I felt like I was in a real musical. The entire cast was so talented and we managed to build a wonderful community.
I remember being told by others that playing the villain is always more fun than playing the hero, and I really got a taste of what that means when I played Ursula. She's so extra and fun. It was a wonderful introduction to musical theatre.
Although I played Ursula, I also got to play a chef in "Les Poisson"! There was a lobster running around in our kitchen, can you believe it?!
Adela is so excited that her little sister is in love...
